It seems that the classic white-soled canvas sneaker is experiencing a serious resurgence this summer, most recently receiving the redesign treatment from Japanese brand WTAPS. No stranger to using skulls and crossbones in their branded clothes and accessories, WTAPS has released a black low-top canvas sneaker that has been embroidered with an all-over crossbones monogram. Complete with a tonal black front toe, white laces and a WTAPS logo on the tongue, the shoes add a little bit of unexpectedly morbid whimsy to an otherwise time-honored and versatile silhouette.
Originally seen on a sneaker during their collaboration with Vans, Japanese brand WTAPS re-uses their crossbones on a pair of their own low-cut canvas sneaker. Black canvas, tonal black front toe, white laces, and a WTAPS logo on the tongue make up the shoe. No release date yet.
